Luohu will provide at least 25,000 government-subsidized apartments by 2025, the district government said at a press conference on July 21.

Currently, the authorities provide 820 public rental apartments for qualified families in the district.

Luohu launched two batches of public rental housing this year. The district usually launches about three to four batches of public rental housing each year.

Government-subsidized housing, or public housing, includes public rental housing, low-cost housing, rental housing, and jointly owned housing.

Thanks to its urban renovation project, the district started building 3,963 government-subsidized apartments and planned to build 9,379 apartments last year. Moreover, it completed the construction of 722 apartments, with a total of 3,636 apartments last year.
