Luohu district marks 43rd anniversary
Luohu district marked the 43rd anniversary of its founding on March 29. As the first district founded in the southern city of Shenzhen, it has served as a pioneer in implementing China’s reform and opening-up policies ever since.
Nowadays, Luohu is playing an active part in China’s national development strategies, such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
In the process of seeking high-quality and sustainable growth, Luohu is dedicated to showing its sense of responsibility, and contributes its power and wisdom to Shenzhen and even the country.
Over the past 43 years, Luohu has created many records in the country’s socioeconomic development. Now, it is injecting new vitality in its development by pursuing innovation-driven development and urban renovation, which has created 4.46 million square meters of new industrial space for the densely populated district over the past five years.
Each square kilometer of land in Luohu produces more than 3 billion yuan ($473 million) of gross domestic product each year, more than twice the city average in Shenzhen. Meanwhile, the energy consumption per unit of GDP in Luohu is the lowest of all the city’s districts.
With a responsible and efficient government, the district not only has a well-protected natural environment but also one of the country’s leading business environments.
Luohu is currently building several emerging industrial belts, developing its service sector and promoting its thriving port economic belt. It also continues to modernize its transportation network and improve its public services.
