Luohu legislature convenes annual session
The annual session of the Luohu People’s Congress (LPC), the district’s top legislature, opened on April 18. Luohu mayor Fan Defan delivered a government work report at the session, in which the district’s gross domestic product growth target for 2022 was set at about 6%.
Zhou Yichuan,director of the Standing Committee of LPC, presided over the meeting.
Some members of the LPC presidium — Wang Huasheng, Gan Chunyong, Zuo Jinping, Ye Aiquan, Qiu Zhi, Lyv Manni, Yang Wenxiu, Zou Benke, Liang Sheng, and Lai Jianhua attended the session.
In the government work report, Fan reviewed the past year's work and deployed development goals and key tasks for 2022. According to the government work report, the district’s GDP reached 257.17 billion yuan ($40.2 billion) last year, an increase of 8.0%; the added value of strategic emerging industries in the district was 17.2 billion yuan, up by 24.8%.
Fan said that the district did a good job balancing the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and socio-economic development last year. The district would continue to build its modern industrial system, attract investment, promote urban renovation, deepen integrated development with Hong Kong, advance comprehensive pilot reforms, and build a smart district to improve people’s livelihood this year.
