Luohu’s targeted bailout measures praised
The Luohu district government released 10 bailout measures on March 25 to help local residents overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.
The measures benefit about 225,000 residents living in the villages in the downtown area of Luohu. These “urban villages” are home to many migrant workers who bear the brunt of the virus control work.
According to the measures, the residents living in the urban villages who have received nucleic acid tests for the novel coronavirus three times between March 14 and March 20 and have received three jabs of the vaccines can apply for a life subsidy of 300 yuan ($47) or daily necessities worth 300 yuan.
Residents speak highly of the timely assistance, which is easy to apply for and quick to access. They said the targeted bailout policies demonstrate the policymakers’ thoughtfulness for people in need, and that the government is well aware of the people’s practical needs.
