Luohu ensures all patients in lockdown areas access timely treatment
The Luohu public health bureau issued a guideline on medical treatment work in lockdown areas during the COVID-19 epidemic on March 4.
The bureau designated the Luohu District People’s Hospital and the Luohu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine acted as medical services providers for residents living in the lockdown area.
Critical patients, blood hemodialysis patients, the maternal, and other emergency patients enjoyed prioritized medical treatment. In addition, the grassroots officials and epidemic prevention and control staff are obliged to contact the two hospitals to provide them with timely medical services and treatment in a closed-loop management model.
Patients with COVID-19-related symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, loss of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhea should take nasal and pharyngeal swabs for novel coronavirus nucleic acid testing as soon as possible.
Other non-emergency patients are advised to resort to online diagnosis provided by the district exclusively for those living in the lockdown areas.
According to the guideline, the lockdown neighborhoods set up hotlines and special work teams to provide the residents with medical and psychological consultation.
