Residents in Luohu urged to take nucleic acid test every day
In response to the rising risks of imported infections of the novel coronavirus, the Luohu COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control department issued an open letter on the night of Feb. 25 urging local residents to take daily nucleic acid tests organized in their neighborhoods.
There are 200 COVID-19 nucleic acid testing booths in Luohu. The epidemic prevention and control department of the district pointed out that Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 were two crucial days in the fight against the resurgence of the epidemic.
In neighborhoods located in the jurisdiction of the Guiyuan sub-district office, for instance, residents were required to receive nucleic acid testing for the novel coronavirus every day from Feb. 24, as reported by local media outlets.
The community used drones equipped with loudspeakers to remind residents to undergo testing in time.
A total of 18 nucleic acid sampling sites were opened in the jurisdiction of the Guiyuan sub-district office, mainly in or around the community, for the convenience of nearby residents.
Entering public sites in Guiyuan requires a negative test result obtained within the past 48 hours.
In order to defeat the virus, the Guiyuan sub-district office actively mobilized enterprises in its jurisdiction to set up a volunteer team. More than 100 volunteers from seven enterprises took part in nucleic acid testing and other epidemic prevention and control work.
A volunteer surnamed Qian said that this is his third time working as a volunteer on the frontline of epidemic prevention and control in Guiyuan. Sixteen other colleagues worked closely together with him.
Jia Molian, a human resource manager for a catering company in Guiyuan of Luohu, said, “Everyone is obliged to make his or her contribution to the fight against the novel coronavirus.” A total of 15 of the company’s employees had worked as volunteers in the sampling sites in Guiyuan.
