Luohu doing all it can to guarantee normal life in lockdown areas
On the early morning of Feb. 16, Luohu issued three emergency notices demarcating part of Minghua Plaza of Dongmen as COVID-19 middle-risk areas, and imposed some going-out restrictions on certain areas of Qingshuihe and Dongmen.
In Dongmen, local residents take nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 in an orderly way, and the traffic flows on the road are much smaller than usual.
The Dongmen sub-district office set up 11 work teams and 10 nucleic acid test stations in its jurisdiction.
The staff from sub-district office and disease prevention and control departments working in the affected areas are responsible for disinfecting parcels and sending them to residents in home quarantines.
Meanwhile, the Luohu Hospital Group staff are busy shuttling essential medical supplies to the affected areas.
With the support and trust of the residents, Dongmen’s COVID-19 prevention and control work is being carried out in a swift, efficient and orderly way.
A resident surnamed Li, who has just finished his testing, said, “I believe that this wave of infections will be defeated soon.” He had just returned to Luohu the day before. Upon his arrival, his health code on his mobile turned yellow, a sign indicating that he should take a nucleic acid testing as soon as possible. He also got a notice of the neighborhood urging him to do the testing.
An individual business owner surnamed Li said that although the epidemic unavoidably affects her business, safety is the most important, and everyone is willing to abide by the government's epidemic prevention and control policies.
Considering the epidemic prevention and control work’s influences on the residents, the neighborhoods have been prepared in many ways.
Xiong Bo, party chief of Dongmen, said that residents in the affected areas could contact the staff or call the hotline for help if they encounter difficulties in life, medical treatment, or psychological problems.
The communities also issued a letter explaining the isolation situation for residents in case of disruption to their work and schooling due to the epidemic prevention and control.
At the same time, the communities provides on-site nucleic acid testing services for pregnant women, the elderly, the people with disabilities, and other persons with mobility difficulties in the affected areas. The communities have also established WeChat working groups, where social health doctors and community workers can answer questions online and solve problems promptly.
At present, people essentially live a normal life in the affected area in Dongmen, and the operation of business is as usual, with sufficient and stable supplies.
The sub-district office of Qingshuihe is trying its best to guarantee daily necessities.
On the morning of Feb. 16, a police shed was set up at the entrance to Xiaweixincun complex, and a fence was also put up at the entranc. All people entering and exiting must have their temperature measured and information registered, and most of the residents quarantine at home.
Community workers register and buy necessities for all elder, ill and disabled residents in the zone to ensure their daily lives go smoothly.
The staff of the Caopuxi neighborhood of Qingshuihe said that residents could order food and shop online. Supplies are distributed collectively by epidemic prevention personnel or picked up at designated locations by the residents. The streets and communities will try their best to meet the needs of residents and make them feel warm and at ease.
