Luohu Party members and officials urged to 'crack hard nuts'
The Luohu district convened a work conference on Feb. 7, the first working day of the Year of the Tiger.
The conference set out the tasks of tackling difficulties in the district this year. Party chief Liu Sheng and Fan Defan, district mayor of the Luohu government, along with other senior officials of the district, took part in the meeting.
On the conference, Zuo Jinping, deputy district mayor of the Luohu government, assigned the “difficult tasks” to relevant units. Liu and Fan presented flags to the 11 leading units that are assigned the tasks.
The tasks are in 11 fields as follows: the modernization of the social governance system and capacity; the building of 20+8 industrial clusters; the construction of key transportation projects; the construction of the main economic corridor in the south of Shenzhen; the construction of the Sungang-Qingshuihe zone; the building of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong port economic belt; the construction of Luohu as an international consumption center; the construction of the Dawangwutong central ecological zone; industry-driven upgrading of services; urban renovation projects; the development of the education cause.
Each of the tasks is decomposed into more smaller and more concrete ones. The senior district officials take the overall responsibilities of the tasks as a whole, and relevant units are in charge of the small individual tasks.
The Luohu authorities regard the 11 tasks as key footholds for the district to enhance the sustainability and quality of its development.
The tasks demonstrate the new actions, new atmosphere, and new potential of Luohu, which can guide the society to form a reasonable expectation for the future development of Luohu, and make the district more attractive.
These projects all concern the people’s well-being and senses of gain and happiness. Therefore, all relevant departments and units are required to set a timetable to implement their respective projects to ensure that they can be fulfilled as scheduled.
Furthermore, the district authorities will make the results of these projects indispensable criteria to evaluate the performances of relevant officials and departments.
Liu Sheng said: “At present, the key is to fulfill a series of major tasks, especially the selected 11 ones that are essential to implementing the overall deployment of the 8th Luohu District Congress of the Communist Party of China. Therefore, we must be determined, muster up the energy, and concentrate on overcoming difficulties.”
He stressed that the Party members and officials in the district should fully understand the situation, actively respond to challenges, and improve ways and methods to deliver on the work.
Liu added that the district’s Party members and officials should establish a sense of risk prevention, know the risks and hidden dangers to take preventive measures, implement an accountability system in work safety, and strengthen active supervision over work safety.
They should also improve mechanisms for tolerating and correcting mistakes, create a “white list” for reform and development, and a “safe zone” for innovation and exploration.
According to Liu, the excellent experience, good practices, and outstanding figures and advanced deeds emerging in the tasks should be publicized to drive the whole district to form a good atmosphere of overcoming difficulties and delivering good results.
