Luohu organizes special activities celebrating Spring Festival
As the Spring Festival approaches, the festive atmosphere of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Feb. 1 this year, is increasingly palpable everywhere in Luohu.
The district plans to launch a variety of cultural, sports, and entertainment activities for the country’s most important annual traditional festival.
The publicity department of the Luohu District Committee of Communist Party of China, the Luohu Industry and Information Technology, and the Luohu Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sport Bureau jointly held a biweekly news conference on Jan. 27 to disclose the “menu” of the district’s New Year “feast.”
The Luohu Art Museum will exhibit 43 items including frescos from Shanxi province’s Yongle Palace that date back to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The museum uses animation, new media technology, 3D printing technology, and other mediums to create a dialogue between history and modernity. The exhibition runs until the end of March.
As the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games is to be convened soon, the Shenzhen Fine Art Museum will exhibit paintings featuring the Games by artist Yang Gang. The exhibition will run until Feb. 15.
The Shenzhen Fine Art Institute will exhibit various kinds of artistic works, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, engravings, sculptures, and watercolors in its exhibition hall until March 15.
The Luohu Cultural Hall will organize a photography exhibition at its Qingshuihe branch until Feb.16. The photos were all taken in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, reflecting the cities’ achievements in socio-economic development, cultural construction, and preservation of ecology over recent years.
For those who love drama, folk music, and Cantonese opera, Luohu has also prepared many wonderful performances, concerts, and stage plays during the Spring Festival holidays.
The Luohu authorities said they hope these efforts will help local residents, as well as migrant workers, enjoy their time celebrating the Spring Festival in the district.
