Shenzhen reported four new locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 this morning, according to the municipal health authority.
All of the new infections were detected in routine nucleic acid tests of the key risk groups and in the citywide screening of close contacts and secondary close contacts of the infections confirmed earlier. Case 8 is a 27-year-old woman who works in Longgang District. She lives in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District and is a close contact of the second case of the latest local COVID resurgence.
The four new confirmed cases have been transferred to the emergency wards of the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. Their neighborhoods and workplaces are placed under lockdown, while screening of their close contacts and secondary close contacts are under way.
