Luohu holds running event to promote public fitness
An amateur running activity around the Donghu Lake kicked off in Luohu Sports Leisure Park on Dec. 19.
Hosted by the Luohu Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports Bureau and organized by Luohu Distance-Running Association, the activity aimed to promote public fitness activities, advocate a healthy and civilized lifestyle, showcase Luohu’s well-preserved natural landscape and resources, and demonstrate its image as a pilot zone of sustainable development.
The event attracted outdoor sports lovers from across the Shenzhen city. The 8-kilometer-long route started in the park, taking runners past the Shenzhen Reservoir, Wutong Greenway, Xianhu Lake, and Luohu Plant and Fruit Farm before reaching the finish line in the stadium of Luohu’s Dawangquan township.
Throughout the journey with fresh air and beautiful views, pacers, medical staff, volunteers, and photographers were present to provide services. There were additional medical care stations and supply depots along the route as well.
In order to ensure the event can go smoothly, the organizers made meticulous arrangements to deal with any unexpected situations regarding the participants and other emergencies.
In addition, temperature measurement, real-name registration, disinfection, and health code and travel code inspections were strictly carried out at the event site. A temporary isolation point was also set up. All participants had to provide negative nucleic acid test results within 48 hours before the activity.
The organizers have strictly implemented epidemic prevention and control measures to ensure the activity was safe for its participants and attendees.
A person in charge of the Luohu Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports Bureau said that the activity has fully demonstrated the unique natural resources and picturesque landscape of Luohu, as well as its image as a modern socialist pioneer district in sustainable development.
The activity was also a way to implement the ordinance on promoting fitness for all in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
