Fan Defan, mayor of Luohu, delivered a report on behalf of the district government during the first conference of the 8th Luohu People’s Congress which took place Nov. 3.

The work report serves as a comprehensive overview of Luohu’s development achievements over the past five years.

It notes that Luohu has seized opportunities within the country’s strategy and framework for building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen pilot demonstration zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The district government has worked to facilitate innovative development, while overcoming difficulties through reforms in a bid to maintain the stability of the economy and society, and realized a slate of achievements that directly benefit district residents.

Fan said Luohu’s development over the past five years laid a solid foundation for the district to transform itself into a comprehensive hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and serves as a model for sustainable development in the foreseeable future.
