Art exhibition and light show pay tribute to sanitation workers in Luohu
The Luohu Charity Federation & AKD Sanitation Workers Care Fund recently hosted an online exhibition featuring photos, paintings and articles that pay tribute to sanitation workers in Luohu.
The event aims to highlight the hard work of the sanitation workers and call on society to show respect and proactively sort their household waste, so as to build a beautiful and harmonious city.
A total of 88 works, selected from a pool of more than 1,800, are rich in contents, diverse in forms and unique in conceptions, embodying the image of the sanitation worker as seen through the eyes of each creator.
In addition to the online exhibition, the Luohu Charity Federation organized a light show from Oct. 26 to Oct. 31 that spans various landmark buildings across the district. The show is themed “the most beautiful ‘orange color’ in respect to sanitation workers,” as sanitation workers in Shenzhen wear orange uniforms.
According to the federation, sanitation workers are an indispensable part of Shenzhen’s bid for the honorary title of National Civilized City.
The Luohu Charity Federation & AKD Sanitation Workers Care Fund was established by AKD Luxury Cars Mall in 2018 and has received a total investment of 5.5 million yuan ($860,000), with benefits reaching sanitation workers and their families for more than 6,500 times.
The fund hopes more enterprises and individuals can follow suit to show their appreciation for sanitation workers and boost the development of charity undertakings.
