Luohu Party chief meets with deputies during district Party congress
The 8th congress of the Luohu District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened on Oct. 19.
On the first day of the congress, Liu Sheng, secretary of the CPC Luohu District Committee, attended group discussions in the ninth and tenth groups, where he spoke with deputies about the district’s future developments.
The deputies remarked on the significance of holding the congress at a time when Luohu is striving for high-quality development.
The report Liu delivered summarizes the district’s achievements over the past five years, and identifies goals and key tasks for the next five years, signifying a blueprint for Luohu’s future.
During the discussions, the deputies shared their views on Party building, industrial upgrading, grassroots governance and ecological conservation.
Liu said these exchanges created an opportunity for mutual learning, and he was glad to hear the voices from deputies representing various sectors of the society.
Liu encouraged the deputies to offer suggestions and advice about the report he delivered at the meeting.
Liu pointed out that in the past five years, Luohu has made remarkable achievements in securing the livelihoods of residents, overcoming difficulties, improving urban governance and more, and that the city has presented a new look, which can be a source of pride for every citizen of Luohu.
Liu noted that in the new historical period, the central authorities have assigned new missions to Shenzhen and that Luohu must seize every opportunity over the next five years to achieve sustainable development.
According to Liu, efforts should be made to help Luohu become a comprehensive hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As such, the district is required to promote innovation, enhance interconnectivity and improve public services.
