Luohu traffic police strengthen patrols during National Day holiday
To ensure traffic safety, 20 Luohu traffic policemen patrolled the roads from 10 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the next morning during the National Day holiday.
During the first five days of the seven-day holiday starting from Oct. 1, the traffic policemen covered a distance of 4,397 kilometers in total on patrol, dissuading 74 pedestrians and 855 non-motor vehicles from the car lanes.
Notably, on the early morning of Oct. 3, the traffic policemen found a drunk woman on their patrol and escorted her home safely.
Local residents spoke highly of the traffic police’s commitment to their duties, praising them as the guardians of traffic safety in the city.
At 4:40 a.m. on the same day, the traffic policemen found a driver standing on a car lane beside a broken-down car without placing a warning sign behind the vehicle. The policemen immediately helped the driver set up the warning sign, and guided him to leave the car lanes to wait for the pick-up vehicle.
The traffic police warned him of the danger of secondary accidents, and the driver expressed his gratitude to the traffic police for their timely assistance.
The Luohu traffic police reminded people that drunk driving is strictly prohibited, and drivers and passengers of broken-down cars should leave the car lanes immediately after setting up warning signs.
