To further strengthen their on-campus traffic safety publicity campaign and to improve the students’ traffic safety awareness, the Luohu education bureau and the Luohu traffic police jointly organized the “first class of traffic safety” activity on Sept 16.

All teachers and students of kindergartens, primary, and middle schools in Luohu took part in the program online and offline. During the activity, the Luohu traffic police awarded a “Guangdong juvenile traffic police force” flag to each of the students who had been elected as “student traffic police,”, an organization the students established to publicize traffic rules at school and in nearby neighborhoods.

The activity aims to let the newly enrolled “traffic police” help their contemporaries and community establish a sense of mission and responsibility to foster a civilized traffic order and form an understanding of traffic rules from childhood.

During the “first class of traffic safety,” the Luohu traffic police called on the students to be maintainers of civilized traffic order, take the lead in obeying traffic laws and regulations, spread relevant knowledge to the people around them, and as long as they maintain their own safety, are encouraged to take the initiative to stop people from violating traffic rules.

After the relevant officials awarded the flag of “Guangdong juvenile traffic police force” to the student representatives, they later took an oath of traffic safety. Cladded in traffic police uniforms, the students lined up neatly to perform the traffic command gestures after the flag awarding ceremony.

Since the beginning of the new semester this autumn, Luohu has carried out various kinds of online and offline activities to raise the children’s awareness of traffic safety and popularize relevant knowledge in 78 schools. A total of more than 40,000 students have watched the online courses on traffic rules and safety.

The Luohu traffic police also organized for the students to visit a traffic safety theme park in the hope that they could gain firsthand traffic safety knowledge from the activity.
