Energy-saving awareness month launched in Luohu
The Luohu District Planning and Natural Resources Bureau kicked off its energy-saving awareness month on Aug. 23, with activities planned through Sept. 23 to advocate low-carbon lifestyles and promote the development of a green economy.
Due to COVID-19, the majority of the campaign will take place online using the bureau’s website, where they’ll share relevant information, as well as organize quizzes complete with prizes and awards.
The goal is to raise awareness and educate residents about the necessity and urgency of living an environmentally friendly life while making sustainability a societal concern.
The bureau hopes that people will heed this opportunity and use the information and activities to begin thinking of ways that they can save energy and live healthier day-to-day lives, both for themselves and the planet.
Likewise, the bureau has also hung posters in its own office building, calling on employees to save water, electricity and single-use office supplies.
Similar posters are also being put up in neighborhoods throughout Luohu district, such that the awareness campaign can reach as many residents as possible.
The bureau said that it will continue innovating new ways to publicize this important cause while strengthening its content, and monitoring its effects on green development, all in a bid to consistently raise awareness of the importance of mitigated energy use for all of society.
