China's first water purification plant equipped with 5G built in Luohu
Anyone driving across the Honghu overpass in Luohu can see that the construction of a new park to the north of Honghu Park is nearly finished.
But few would know that under the new park there is a large-scale water purification plant responsible for treating wastewater produced by Luohu’s Sungang and Qingshuihe sub-districts.
The construction of the new park is expected to be completed by the end of September, and the park is scheduled to open to the public at the end of the year.
The Honghu water purification plant is a key sewage disposal project of Shenzhen. The construction of the factory began on April 18, 2018. It was put into commercial operation on Sept. 11 last year and started to supply treated water to Honghu Park in April this year.
Building the sewage treatment works underground saves land, and frees up the ground level to be used as a public space for local residents.
The Honghu water purification plant is China’s first sewage disposal factory equipped with 5G technologies.
