Luohu administrative law enforcement team shares experiences
On Aug. 13, Shenzhen’s comprehensive law enforcement department organized an activity in Dongmen, Luohu, providing administrative law enforcement officers from across the city a chance to glean insights from the experiences of the law enforcement team in the sub-district office.
Dongmen’s administrative comprehensive law enforcement team showed visitors how they clearly define their duties according to relevant laws, strengthen management, regulate their work, participate in social initiatives and apply advanced technologies to daily practices.
In several recently issued documents on law enforcement, the Shenzhen municipal government urged city-wide sub-district administrative comprehensive law enforcement departments to improve their performance, andthereby enhance grassroots governance.
Following the release of the documents, the Dongmen law enforcement team was designated a pilot department for the initiative, and the team was tasked with exploring new work models to bring the documents’ objectives into practice.
During the activity, team members led participants on a tour of their facilities and headquarters, while demonstrating some of their equipment and even running through drills so that visiting law enforcement officers could better understand the operational model.
To better perform their tasks, the Dongmen office has come up with some novel ideas, such as establishing a female unit and drawing on its members’ patience when settling disputes.
Luohu has also drafted and implemented strict rules strengthening self-regulation. For instance, according to the rules, the administrative law enforcement teams must pay special attention to collecting evidence of various forms of law enforcement behaviors.
The efforts have doubtlessly paid off. Not only are residents’ legitimate rights and interests better protected, but also the reputation of the government is well-maintained thanks to more transparency in the team’s daily work.
