Shenzhen urged to develop commerce, improve business environment
Shenzhen’s political advisors met with senior officials of the city government on July 9 to discuss how to accelerate the city’s development into a consumption and trade hub.
Kou Ya’nan, deputy commissioner of the Ministry of Commerce in Shenzhen and a member of Shenzhen municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said Shenzhen should develop its characteristics of vitality, fashion, inclusiveness and innovation.
He also suggested Shenzhen should take advantage of its strengths in being home to so many high-tech enterprises, and boost the development of commerce related to these companies so as to combine its strengths in technology with commerce.
Luo Zheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Shenzhen municipal Committee and president of Shenzhen Dongfang Yishang Costume Co., believed the government should give more support to research and development of brand-holding enterprises, assist their digital transformation, promote the development of a new business model, and help costume, jewelry and electronics enterprises to develop their headline brands.
Fang Mandi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Shenzhen municipal Committee and president of Shenzhen Huayun International Logistics Co., urged the city to further optimize its customs clearance procedures, support the agglomeration development of relevant industries, reduce enterprise operating costs, and improve the business environment for the cross-border e-commerce industry.
Liu Fengning, a member of the CPPCC Shenzhen municipal Committee and a leading official in Shenzhen Hongjindi Sport Industry Co., suggested the government should open more sport and exercise facilities in residential communities and schools to satisfy the public need.
