Internet companies use tech strengths in Luohu virus battle
Internet enterprises in Luohu have actively taken part in the COVID-19 epidemic response by taking advantage of their advanced information technologies.
Dimcno, a data technology company in Shenzhen, installed monitoring equipment at the entrances of shopping malls and supermarkets, and other key passageways in Luohu, reminding people of wearing masks.
The Shenchuan Hudong Technology Company links the data base of Luohu Hospital Group with the district's big data center so people can check the results of their nucleic acid tests on the iLuohu platforms using their smart phones.
The Shenzhen Bendibao New Media Co. makes full use of its strengths in information analysis and a large pool of users to help the district authorities to respond to public queries on epidemic prevention control work.
The application of advanced technology and the involvement of the companies have eased the work burden of grassroots civil servants. Wu Yunchang, a civil servant for the district internet information center, who works as a coordinator at the Xinxiu and Xinxing communities, said although the work is almost continuous, seeing the residents receive tests in an orderly way makes him feel his work is important, and he feels happy that he can make his contribution to the fight against the common enemy.
According to Zhu Youhong, a civil servant in charge of the epidemic prevention and control work in the Dushu community under the Dongxiao sub-district office, many of those participating in the epidemic prevention and control work are employees of IT companies, and they are good at taking advantage of their knowledge, technology and experience to optimize the workflow and plug loopholes in the software and hardware.
Wang Xiangdong, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Liwei Information Technology Co., said he often travels in the country on business trip, and he has seen the epidemic prevention and control measures many local governments have undertaken.
As a volunteer for the work in Luohu, he said: "'Serve the people' has never been empty talk, and we need to carry it out with concrete actions. Although I feel tired, I am happy when I think I am helping others."
The volunteers from the IT companies also actively provide suggestions on how to improve the efficiency of the whole epidemic prevention and control system. For instance, they suggested the government use the administrative affairs text message system on the basis of phone calls to ensure all residents are informed in a timely manner.
