Luohu officials urged to be wary of imported COVID-19 cases
The CPC Luohu Committee and the Luohu District People's Government held a meeting on May 24 to study CPC Central Committee General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the Global Health Summit on May 21, as well as actions of the Guangdong provincial and Shenzhen municipal authorities dealing with COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.
Senior officials listened to reports of relevant departments and the sub-district offices on their epidemic prevention and control work before making new work deployments.
Luohu Party chief Luo Yude, who is also head of the district's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control office, presided over the meeting.
The meeting emphasized that Party members and civil servants in Luohu should study Xi's speech, and never slacken their vigilance in regard to the epidemic prevention and control work.
They also need to further raise their awareness on the risks and carry out bottom line thinking, and recognize that the epidemic prevention and control work remains complicated and filled with uncertainties; they must take seriously all of the required epidemic prevention and control measures, safeguard the people's lives and health, and cherish the hard-won strategic victory in the previous fight against the virus.
The meeting required all related departments in Luohu to strictly carry out all epidemic prevention and control measures so as to build up an epidemiological "Great Wall" that can screen for evidence of imported cases, and avoid rebound of domestic cases.
Everyone should implement an accountability system and strengthen supervision and control of the most vulnerable sites and groups of people; they must strictly carry out the quarantine and disinfection measures, as well as the temperature measurement procedures to cut the transmission chains particularly for imported cases.
They also need to accelerate the inoculation work in a safe and orderly way, and the allocation of medical workers, the guarantee of medical logistics and the management of information should be done in an appropriate way.
They should always put safety and standard operation first in all vaccination work; in addition, they should carry out more publicity work to raise public consciousness on the importance of accepting vaccination, so that more people can take the initiative in the fight against the common enemy.
