Luohu urged to pursue high-quality development
The Luohu District Committee of the Communist Party of China convened a meeting on May 19 to study the decisions of recent meetings of the city’s legislators and the political advisory body.
Luo Yude, Luohu Party chief, presided over the discussions on how to implement the higher authorities’ deployments.
The 7th Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress and the 7th Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were held earlier this month. This year is most significant as it marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
The two sessions, following the requirements of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, offered concrete suggestions on how to overcome difficulties in the city’s socioeconomic development.
Shenzhen Mayor Qin Weizhong visited the Luohu delegation during the two sessions, and issued detailed instructions on Luohu’s high-quality development, encouraging the district to mark the 100th anniversary of the CPC founding with greater developmental achievements.
The Luohu meeting stressed that the district has to actively form a new development paradigm, adhere to people-centered urban management, and pay more attention to developmental causes related to public livelihood.
In detail, Luohu should stimulate consumption, cultivate new consumption models, and connect domestic and foreign markets; the district should improve its city governance, try to protect the city’s culture and history while modernizing its infrastructure and daily operations; the district should deepen its medical care reform and develop its eldercare system to improve the people’s sense of gain and overall happiness.
