Legislators from Luohu focus on high-quality development
In the Luohu delegation’s group deliberations at the First Session of the 7th Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress on May 16, deputies discussed the implementation of the spirit of the 7th Shenzhen Congress of the Communist Party of China in regard to future development.
They also talked about the government work report, and actively offered suggestions on how to improve governance in the district.
Luo Yude, Luohu Party chief and a deputy to the Municipal People’s Congress, described the government work report is impressive for its rich content.
Luohu would earnestly implement the economic and social development plan to improve the quality of its development and the efficiency of its economic operation; the district should vigorously carry out investment promotional work, prioritize ecological preservation, upgrade its industries, restructure its economy, enhance its governance and services, and improve its business environment, he said.
Luo stressed that Luohu should take advantage of its geographic advantages as a close neighbor to Hong Kong to develop its port economic belt, attract young people and talents from Hong Kong, promote the coordinated development of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a whole.
To promote the integrated and coordinated regional development, Luohu will gradually dock its rules and policies with those of Hong Kong so that residents of the latter can work and live in the district more conveniently.
The district will also stimulate consumptions of various kinds, and boost the high-quality development of its already competitive gold and jewelry industry, and build a national comprehensive tourism demonstration zone.
“It was inspiring to hear the report in its concise language and to-the-point expressions,” Deputy Min Qishuang said.
“As a legal practitioner, I am pleased to hear the government work report attaches great importance to the construction of a city under the principle of the rule of law, which lays the foundation for a law-based business environment.”
Min suggested that Luohu should do more in law popularization, strengthen the supervision of administrative law enforcement, and strengthen the training and support of high-end legal service talents.
Another deputy, Wu Qingbiao, said: “It can be seen from the report that in addition to adhering to innovation-driven development of high-tech industries, Shenzhen is also paying more and more attention to traditional competitive and characteristic industries.”
Wu pointed out that the government work report mentioned the implementation of brand promotion projects, supporting enterprises to carry out internationalization strategies of their own brands, and enhancing the added value of traditional competitive industries.
