First public-private partnership seniors nursing home opens in Luohu
The Baofengyuan public-private partnership project, or the China Life Youxiangjia nursing home for the elderly, opened on April 22.
Luohu Party chief Luo Yude, Kong Dechang, Party chief and president of China Life Health Industry Investment Co. and Wang Xu, its vice-president, Chen Wenqing, deputy head of the Shenzhen bureau of civil affairs, and Chen Longxing, deputy head of the Luohu district government, attended the opening ceremony.
Luohu Hospital Group and the nursing home signed a cooperation agreement, while the Luohu civil affairs bureau and the nursing home signed a liability statement on safety protection and fire prevention work.
China Life Insurance Company branches in Shenzhen donated pianos, furniture and other facilities for the nursing home, showing its support for the cause of caring for the elderly.
This is the first seniors caring PPP project in Luohu, and the district hopes it can help the cause become more sustainable, and realize a win-win situation for all relevant parties.
The newly opened nursing home, which covers an area of 4,000 square meters, has 70 double-bed rooms, among which 59 beds are government subsidized. Occupants enjoy round-the-clock care.
Luo Yude said that to accelerate the building of the system caring for the elderly, developing relevant services was one of the most important projects related to people's livelihoods.
The purpose was to build a comprehensive and high-quality nursing system for the elderly that can be embedded in communities, he added.
