A rights protection work station for consumers of jewelry commodities was founded in Luohu on March 11, marking the commencement of the series of activities for the annual World Consumer Rights Day on March 15.

Staff of the jewelry commodity consumers’ rights protection work station plan to respond to consumer complaints and appeals in a timely manner, and take all necessary efforts to help them protect their rights and interests.

In an opening ceremony, Ma Ying, deputy director of the Luohu Industry and Information Technology Bureau, awarded a name plate of the work station to its operators.

Shenzhen is known as a national gold and jewelry trade center. Luohu is the jewelry industry center of Shenzhen, and it is compared to a barometer of China’s gold and jewelry market.

The industry is a traditional competitive industry of Luohu, as well as a symbolic characteristic industry in the district. In recent years, Luohu has undertaken unswerving efforts to promote upgrading oriented to consumers’ needs, advancing the transformation from jewelry processing to exhibition, wholesale & retails and fashion creation and design.

Luohu Consumers’ Association has piloted a one-stop consumption dispute settlement mechanism in Jinzhan Jewelry Plaza and Shuibei Wanshan Jewelry Industrial Park according to the theme set by the China Consumers’ Association for this year’s Consumer Rights Day — “guaranteed security, smooth consumption”.

These practices are helping consolidate the foundation of healthy market development, promote the upgrading and improving the consumption environment, experience and services.

These are all seen as necessary for the construction of Luohu as “an all-embracing hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”.
