Luohu holds ceremony to mark beginning of 36 key construction projects
On Feb. 24, Luohu held a ceremony at the construction site of a smart gas industrial base in Qingshuihe, collectively marking the beginning of 36 construction projects in the district this month.
Total investment in these projects is 33.1 billion yuan ($5.13 billion), among which 5.7 billion yuan is planned to be spent this year.
Liu Qingsheng, deputy mayor of Shenzhen, Luohu Party chief Luo Yude, Luohu government head Liu Zhiyong and other senior district officials took part in the ceremony.
The launch of these construction projects means the district is taking one step further towards its objective of becoming an all-embracing hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Luo Yude said: “Key projects are ballast for the development of urban areas, and also key supports for Luohu’s construction as an all-embracing hub of the Greater Bay Area”.
Last year, Luohu saw its fixed assets investment rise 10.2% year-on-year, the largest increase since the district’s establishment.
About 80% of the projects are located in the Qingshuihe zone. A total of 28 relate to people’s livelihood, as they cover education, medical care and public health, sports and treatment of polluted water.
The smart gas industrial base to be built in Qingshuihe is a key project of Shenzhen’s gas industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). With a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan, its overall planned construction area will be 93,600 square meters, and its site area is 12,000 square meters.
