Luohu takes advantage of 5G in building smart city
Shenzhen ranked the first in two reports on the innovation level in Chinese cities last year issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China.
The production value of high-tech industries from January to November last year in Shenzhen hit 2.55 trillion yuan, up 3.3 percent year-on-year.
It is estimated that whole society input in research and development in the city last year occupied about 4.93 percent of its gross domestic product. Shenzhen has about 18,000 high-tech enterprises of national level, three times that of 2015.
The city is trying its best to advance the development of emerging industries with 5G as a representative of an important infrastructure. Shenzhen is one of the first cities in the world realized full 5G network coverage .
According to the science and technology innovation bureau of Luohu, the district is trying to take full advantage of this to improve governance, city management and people's livelihoods.
It has initiated a series of demonstration projects to contribute to the construction of a smart city through applying 5G in government services, community, school and hospital.
