Luohu Party chief visits Longlin and Xilin
Luohu Party chief Luo Yude visits Xilin county of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
A delegation of poverty alleviation officials, led by Luohu Party chief Luo Yude, visited Xilin and Longlin counties of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from July 8 to 10.
During the visit, the Luohu delegation vowed to donate 5 million yuan ($714,000) to Xilin and 6 million yuan ($857,000) to Longlin to improve local residents' livelihoods.
Luo Yude stressed that the Luohu civil servants that are helping the two counties with their poverty alleviation work should focus on the weak points to win the people's recognition, make their work results stand the test of time, and make sure all tasks are finished before the deadline.
This is the third time Luohu has sent a delegation to the two counties since May.
Luohu has arranged 62 units to partner with 19 impoverished villages in Xilin and 38 impoverished villages in Longlin to help villagers develop industries and lift them out of poverty.
Also, the Luohu education bureau has instructed 18 schools in Luohu to partner with 18 schools in the two counties and sent 18 teachers to temporarily teach in the two counties.
Xilin county eliminated all its object rural poverty in April last year, according to the Guangxi government.
With the Luohu Hospital Group's help, Xilin county has set up its hospital group on the basis of three county-level hospitals and 11 township clinics to strengthen their coordination and play up their respective strengths.
Huang Junke, deputy president of the Xilin Hospital Group, said that the Luohu-style medical care reform has been carried out in Xilin for a year and has brought tangible benefits to the people and markedly improved the overall level of grassroots medical care agencies.
To help migrant workers find jobs in Guangdong province, the Luohu human resource bureau collaborates with its counterpart in Longlin to regularly hold virtual job interviews. After passing the interview, migrant workers can go directly to employers.
Lu Kai, a resident of Yacha, Longlin, said that due to the lack of information and poor transportation, it used to be difficult for villagers living in the mountains to go out. The online job hunting platform has assigned all that to history.
Luohu also helped the two counties provide their migrant workers with the necessary skills and pre-employment training to adapt to new jobs as soon as possible.
Luo Yude pointed out that in the future, Luohu should divert more attention from poverty alleviation to rural rejuvenation; the cooperation with Longlin and Xilin should be deepened to tap into their complementarity in fund, technology and talents.
