Plumeria Book Bar: A tranquil retreat in Shenzhen

Tucked away in the serene Fairy Lake Botanical Garden in Shenzhen’s Luohu district, Plumeria Book Bar has been recognized as one of Guangdong’s first forest book houses. The bookstore is named after the plumeria flowers that surround it. These flowers symbolize hope, renewal, and new beginnings, while also evoking a sense of love and romance.
More than just a bookstore, Plumeria Book Bar serves as a specialized botany library and a cultural and leisure space, seamlessly blending into its natural surroundings. Located east of Wutong Mountain and west of Shenzhen Reservoir, its unique architectural design harmonizes with the lush forest landscape. The interior follows a Nordic minimalist aesthetic, enriched with abundant greenery and a carefully crafted courtyard garden, creating a peaceful and immersive reading environment.
Spanning over 440 square meters, the book bar features multiple sections, including a relaxation bar, reading area, document reference section, and an outdoor observation deck. Its collection boasts approximately 20,000 botany-related books, covering both natural sciences and humanities, along with over 120 domestic and international academic journals focused on botany.
Beyond its extensive literary resources, Plumeria Book Bar has become a dynamic community hub, regularly hosting science outreach programs and nature education activities. These events attract nature lovers, students, and researchers, making it a cherished destination for those seeking knowledge and tranquility in the heart of nature.
