Quasi-zero carbon emissions making Sungang a ‘green calling card’ of Luohu
As one of the first batches of quasi-zero carbon emissions regions earmarked by Shenzhen, Sungang of Luohu recently launched a pilot project during National Energy-saving Publicity Week, July 10-16.
The Luohu district government plans to explore the applications of quasi-zero carbon emissions technologies in Sungang in municipal works, construction, transportation, urban management, and daily life in a bid to make the area, which covers 33,000 square meters, a “green calling card” of the district.
The Children’s Park in Sungang will be upgraded according to relevant standards. Large amounts of sponge facilities will be installed to popularize carbon emissions reduction knowledge and raise people’s awareness around the topic.
The Cuihu Culture and Sports Park of Sungang will be transformed into a model of a zero-carbon, sponge, and water-saving park.
The architecture of the Luohu zero-carbon demonstration center in Sungang will also be transformed to reduce full-cycle carbon emissions.
At the same time, more charging poles will be built in the area to meet the needs of 2,260-3,390 electric bicycles a day. Another 11 bicycle lanes with a total length of 7.09 kilometers will be built to accelerate the formation of a green transportation system of the area.
As green and low-carbon industry have become a key development industry for the future, Luohu takes science and technology and institutional innovation as the two core driving forces for its high-quality development and actively promotes the development of green economy and low-carbon industries and technologies across the district.
