Visitors from Hong Kong stoke consumption recovery in Luohu
Passengers made a total of 63,000 trips through the Luohu Port between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong on Feb. 6, starting from which, travelers no longer needed to apply before passing through land boundary control points linking the mainland and Hong Kong. The flow of human traffic was the most among all of Shenzhen’s ports.
A large number of inbound visitors from Hong Kong has since then brought an immediate and long-awaited hustle-bustle back to Shenzhen’s Luohu district.
Shops, hotels, and restaurants all benefit from the inflow of visitors. The Dongmen pedestrian street, a major shopping zone, saw 400,000 visits per day on average, demonstrating the gradual economic recovery in the district.
