Luohu resumes spring flower fair after six years
Luohu has organized a spring flower fair at Aiguo Road from Jan. 15 to Jan. 21, Spring Festival eve.
The Luohu district government made the announcement at its biweekly news conference on Jan. 12.
The spring flower fair dates back to 1982, with the Shenzhen municipal government being the host of the event until 1985. Luohu began hosting the event in 1986, with Aiguo Road becoming its permanent site in 1998. However, the fair has been suspended for the past six years. Now, many Shenzhen citizens who have happy memories of the event look forward to its return.
The fair is not only a platform for flower businesses but also an opportunity to promote consumption in various fields related to people’s daily life and the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
Featuring local specialties, food, and entertainment, the fair is more like a fun fair for local residents.
Statistics from past years show that the fair may attract up to 1.1 million visits, with its overall transaction volume projected to hit more than 40 million yuan ($5.96 million).
