Keeping in mind the concrete concerns of market entities, Luohu has actively created a favorable business environment featuring the rule of law, stability, transparency, predictability, and a global vision.
It has rolled out a series of support policies and created quality industrial space through urban renovation projects to facilitate enterprises’ development in the district.
Notably, the district has attracted many companies, projects, investments and talents by developing emerging industrial belts, zones and parks.
Over the past decade, Luohu's gross domestic product has increased from 135.82 billion yuan ($18.59 billion) in 2012 to 257.17 billion yuan in 2021, and its GDP output per square kilometer exceeded 3 billion yuan at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period.
Among the top 500 enterprises in Shenzhen, 61 are headquartered in Luohu; With more than 90 licensed financial institutions, the total assets and value-added of the financial industry of Luohu account for a quarter of the city and nearly 40% of the district's GDP.
There are 82 innovation carriers at and above the municipal level in the district, more than 450 national high-tech enterprises, and 730 enterprises in strategic emerging industries. The city's first 5G industrial park has also been built in Luohu.
