Luohu achieves hard-earned development
In spite of the pandemic’s impacts, Luohu's GDP exceeded 250 billion yuan ($35 billion) last year, almost doubling what it was a decade ago.
The district has rolled out new supportive policies to attract investment, companies, and talent. It provides all kinds of subsidies to companies and individuals, with the highest reaching 100 million yuan.
The number of enterprises in Luohu has doubled compared with five years ago, and the number of national-level high-tech companies has risen 173%. There are more than 26 invention patents per 10,000 people on average in the district today.
In 2021, the total number of licensed financial institutions in Luohu was 20% of the city's total, and the total assets of its financial industry were 25% of the city's total. Furthermore, the added value of Luohu’s financial sector reached 99 billion yuan
Over the past five years, Luohu has supplied 119 hectares of land and 4.46 million square meters of industrial space through rationalizing land use. It has also built 400,000 square meters of public service facilities and infrastructure.
Over the past decade, the district has prioritized its people in its high-quality development. It has made remarkable progress in providing public services in medical care, education, housing, elderly care, culture, and environmental protection.
For instance, in 2012, there were 221 days with good air quality in Luohu. In 2021, the number climbed to 350, and the average concentration of PM2.5 in the air in the district dropped to 18 micrograms per cubic meter.
