The Luohu district authorities held their half-year work conference on Aug 3, summarizing their performance in the year's first half and arranging their work for the second half. Luohu Mayor Fan Defan presided over the meeting.
In the year's first half, the district made all-out efforts to coordinate epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, maintaining a steady socioeconomic development momentum.
The district maintained its economic performance within a reasonable range. Luohu’s gross domestic product grew 2% in the first half of this year. At the same time, Luohu has introduced ten measures to help enterprises and people affected by the COVID-19 epidemic and industrial support policies.
A total of 83 million yuan ($12.28 million) has been allocated to support 8,847 enterprises and nearly 200,000 residents in the district. That has stabilized the confidence of market players and the people and laid a good foundation for sustained economic recovery in the year's second half.
For the second half of the year, Luohu will normalize its epidemic prevention and control measures and deal with sporadic outbreaks efficiently.
Luohu will intensively monitor its economy's condition, speed up project construction, increase investment impetus, and carefully plan new future-oriented projects.
Luohu will attach great importance to attracting investment and go all out to expand and stabilize investment in the district. The district needs to focus on its 20 strategic emerging industry clusters and eight future industries.
Meanwhile, Luohu will accelerate its urban renovation and construction of large-scale projects. It will strengthen risk prevention and management to guarantee the security of people’s lives and property.
