1st provincial film base in Shenzhen founded in Wutong Mountain
A Guangdong provincial film production training base was set up at Wutong Mountain in Luohu on Sept. 23.
A ceremony was held for the unveiling of a cultural exhibition hosted by the HBCR, a cultural and media company in Wutong Mountain. The event was part of the 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Guangdong Film Association, and the Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Lyu Manni, head of the publicity department of the Luohu District Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The HBCR was earmarked to support the operation of the base.
The base intends to promote the development of the film industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and comprehensively improve the creation and production capacity of film content. It will also guide and standardize the operation of film creation training in Guangdong.
Additionally, the base will play an important role in developing Guangdong’s literary and art undertakings, promoting the creation of excellent literary and artworks, and training literary and artistic talents.
The base is expected to become an important carrier for Guangdong’s film industry to build brands, train talents, and conduct theoretical research.
In her speech at the ceremony, Wang Xiao, Party chief of the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, extended her wishes to the base’s future success.
She said that Shenzhen is a land of miracles, and described how in recent years, the city’s literary and art undertakings have flourished, and a large number of film talents have appeared. The convergence of funds and suitable film creation conditions has promoted the prosperity of local film creation in Shenzhen.
As a characteristic industry of Luohu district, the cultural and creative industry will surely attract more talent and funds, and help it tell the story of Shenzhen better in the future.
Luohu has more than 100 cultural, film and media companies, as well as a large pool of relevant talents.
According to relevant plans by the Luohu government, the district will build an international digital special effects and creative industry cluster based on the 33-hectare Wutong Mountain scenic spot and establish an integrated industrial service platform with high-tech digital studio and visual effects industry as its core. It is hoped that this will attract more creative cultural projects to Luohu and create a cluster effect in the future.
With the base in place, Luohu will set up an integrated film and television industry service platform to carry out various forms of film training and exchange activities for the Greater Bay Area, cultivate and attract young film and television talents, and improve the professional production capacity of the entire film and television industry in Shenzhen.
