Reminder
Except for including from certain countries who can enter China visa-free, all foreigners entering China need a Chinese visa. After entering China, foreigners who need to stay in China due to non-diplomatic or official reasons may apply to the exit and entry administration of the public security organs for the issuance, extension, renewal or reissuance of visas or residence permits.
How can I apply for a visa or residence permit?
Step 1: Online appointment
Approach (1): Appointment by website: Enter the official website of Shenzhen Municipal PSB (http://ga.sz.gov.cn/), select “FOREIGNER”-“Online Appointment for Foreigners in Shenzhen” to make an appointment.
Approach (2): Appointment by WeChat official account: Enter “深圳公安(Shenzhen Public Security)” official account, select “民生警務(wù)(People’s Livelihood)”-“出入境業(yè)務(wù)(Exit-Entry Service)”-“辦事指南(Guidance)”-“外國人(Foreigner)” to make an appointment.
Step 2: Submit materials at Exit-Entry Service Hall of Shenzhen Municipal PSB or Shenzhen Municipal Administrative Service Hall. (Detailed information of the services hallscan be seen in the Appendix.)
What materials are required for the application for a visa or residence permit?

Handling time
Visa: The legal processing time is 20 working days, while the promised processing time is 1-3 working days.
Residence permit: The legal processing time is 20 working days, while the promised processing time is 1-5 working days.
