Shenzhen mayor vows to heed lawmakers’ voices in seeking city’s high-quality development
From Monday to Tuesday, Shenzhen Mayor Qin Weizhong participated in group discussions of deputies from Futian, Nanshan, and Luohu on the Shenzhen municipal government work report he delivered at the annual session of the Shenzhen People’s Congress, the city’s legislature.
Qin carefully listened to and analyzed the deputies’ suggestions, and said that the municipal government would deal with the concerns of the people and build Shenzhen into a better city.
Qin stressed that the city should stick to the dynamic zero-COVID-19 approach and prevent imported cases and domestic resurgence. He also said the city should adhere to the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, fully implement the policies and measures to cut taxes and fees, increase high-quality investment, and improve domestic and foreign trade quality and efficiency. He also called on the financial sector to enhance its capacity to support the real economy.
In addition, Qin emphasized that the city should strengthen its strategic scientific and technological forces, concentrate on making breakthroughs in several key and core technologies, and achieve self-reliance and self-improvement in cutting-edge science and technology.
He also underlined that Shenzhen would build more schools, hospitals, government-subsidized houses, and public cultural facilities, and promote urban renovation to improve people’s livelihoods and the government’s public services.
