Shenzhen to host China’s first wholly foreign-owned hospital
The 2024 Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference was convened on Dec. 6. At the event, Luye Medical Group signed a strategic agreement with the Public Hygiene and Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality to establish China's first wholly foreign-owned hospital in Shenzhen.
This groundbreaking initiative follows the release of a pilot work plan jointly issued on Nov. 29 by the National Health Commission, Ministry of Commerce, and two other government departments. The plan provides clear guidelines for setting up foreign-invested hospitals, opening doors to new opportunities in the healthcare sector.
During the conference, the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission previewed forthcoming support measures and showcased the city's unique advantages in attracting foreign-invested healthcare institutions.
Luye Medical Group, a division of Luye Life Sciences Group, was founded in 1997 in Singapore and operates in Singapore, China and Australia. The company plans to establish an international medical headquarters and a wholly foreign-owned specialty hospital in Shenzhen. This initiative aims to integrate domestic and international medical expertise, delivering world-class healthcare services to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
