Shenzhen attracts 3,683 new foreign-invested enterprises in H1 2024
In the first half of 2024, Shenzhen witnessed the establishment of 3,683 new foreign-invested enterprises, comprising 13.7% of the national total. Currently, over 310 Global Fortune 500 companies have chosen Shenzhen as an investment destination.
Since the beginning of this year, executives from multinational giants such as Apple, Tesla, UK-based DMG Events, Panasonic, and Adecco have made frequent visits to Shenzhen for project negotiations and investment agreements, underscoring the strong confidence global investors have in the city.
Cao Zhongxiong, director of the Digital Strategy and Economic Research Department at the China Development Institute, emphasized that, in addition to Shenzhen’s robust talent pool and comprehensive, stable industrial and supply chains, the city’s superior business environment is a key attraction for investors.
In June, Shenzhen unveiled three strategic plans aimed at further enhancing its business environment, with a focus on creating a world-class market-oriented, law-based, and international business climate across various sectors. These initiatives are designed to provide stronger support for the high-quality development of market entities and to attract a continuous flow of global resources.
"In recent years, Shenzhen has consistently worked to make its business environment more market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized, introducing a series of policies to further open up and foster global cooperation, thereby offering convenient services and ample development space for foreign investors and enterprises," Cao Zhongxiong said.
