Reopening of Shenzhen ports boosts economic recovery
With the adjustment of the country’s COVID protocol, the port economic belt in the Luohu district is regaining its hustle-bustle of the past that had been absent for about three years.
Since customs clearance procedure resumed between Shenzhen and Hong Kong earlier this month, many real estate brokers on the side of Shenzhen near the ports started receiving consultations of clients from Hong Kong in large amount. The slack season of January for the real estate broking industry becomes unusually busy this year.
Although the Luohu Port is still closed, more and more shops near the port are preparing to re-open. And in the port economic belt, Luohu launches some sales promotion activities. Travel agencies are also preparing for a resurgence of the two-way tourism industry.
Some analysts said that the resumption of passenger flow between Shenzhen and Hong Kong will not only directly promote the prosperity of trade at the ports, but more importantly, the frequent and close exchanges between the two sides will release the advantages of the integrated development of the two cities and provide strong support for economic recoveries on both sides.
