'Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Reading' series of activities set to start
The "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Reading" series of events commenced with its opening ceremony on April 21 in Shenzhen. The series aim to mark the 29th World Book Day and the 9th Shenzhen Minors Reading Day, both celebrated on April 23.
At the opening ceremony, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Study Program was officially launched. Shenzhen Publishing Group Co., Ltd. and Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Limited formalized their collaboration by signing a strategic cooperation framework agreement. This agreement aims to deepen their partnership in various areas, including publishing, book copyright transactions, national reading initiatives, and co-establishment and sharing of new reading spaces. Through these joint efforts, the integration and exchange of cultural resources between Shenzhen and Hong Kong will be promoted.
Tong Yudan, a senior manager at the Planning and Development Center of Shenzhen Book City (Futian CBD), emphasized that the primary objective of this initiative is to familiarize Hong Kong students with the cultural and technological landscapes of Shenzhen. In the coming days, there are plans for increased interaction between students from both regions, with Shenzhen students also being invited to Hong Kong to immerse themselves in its rich culture and innovative ambiance.
