Economic vitality, innovation pull talent to Shenzhen
Shenzhen ranks third among the top 100 Chinese cities for attracting talents, according to a report recently released by China’s leading recruitment company Zhilian Zhaopin and economist Ren Zeping.
Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Suzhou, Wuhan, and Wuxi were among the top 10 cities in terms of attracting talent in 2022. Last year, college graduates mainly gathered in first- and second-tier cities, and postgraduates tended to look for jobs in the first-tier cities.
According to the report, Shenzhen’s relatively fast economic development and its support for innovation are the main attractions for talent.
In 2022, Shenzhen's gross domestic product reached 3.2 trillion yuan ($449.5 billion), ranking third in the country. Shenzhen is also home to many well-established enterprises, especially internet companies, such as Huawei, Tencent, and Ping An Insurance.
