Shenzhen libraries wins international award for successful marketing
A number of libraries in Shenzhen’s Yantian were recently given an award highlighting their marketing efforts by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.
The libraries, which are located by the seaside and face the sea, got this honor for the “Sea Library, See Library” program. They were the only district-level public libraries in China to win the award.
For example, the Beacon Library stands like a beacon on the seaside. The Tinghai (hearing sea) Library holds more than 5,000 books despite only having a space of around 200 square meters. That’s thanks to its rational use of the indoor space. In addition, its panoramic window provide readers unencumbered views out toward the sea.
Thanks to their unique architectural designs and successful marketing, the libraries have become landmark buildings in Shenzhen.
