China Cup sailing competition concludes in Shenzhen
On the evening of March 26, the 14th China Cup Sailing Competition successfully concluded in Dapeng New District, Shenzhen.
The success of the competition greatly promoted exchanges and cooperation between domestic and international maritime communities and made positive contributions to the development of China's maritime sports. The event has become a bright symbol and trailblazing calling card of Shenzhen’s athletic development.
Zhang Hua, deputy mayor of Shenzhen, said that the China Cup plays a positive role in promoting Shenzhen to become a global marine center city and an international sports city. He added that he sincerely hoped that the China Cup would further innovate its thinking and mechanisms, cherish the trust of people from all circles, deliver on the public’s expectations, continue to promote the new and greater development of China's sailing sport, and jointly achieve a bright future with Shenzhen.
In recent years, Shenzhen, relying on its unique geographical advantages and abundant marine resources, has fostered and held a series of water sports events, fully demonstrating its coastal citycharacteristics.
Shenzhen will host more than 50 water sports events this year, including sailing, rowing, and dragon boat racing, which will help further enrich and improve the city’s water sports event system and develop the city’s position as a maritime hub.
