A digital power grid experience center was recently inaugurated in Shenzhen’s Nanshan district.
Operated by the Shenzhen power supply bureau of China Southern Power Grid, the center aims to display the achievements of Shenzhen’s digital power grid and enable the visitors to experience the tremendous changes the digital power grid has brought to the city.
The Shenzhen power supply bureau applied the latest generation of digital technologies, such as 5G and artificial intelligence, to build the smart power grid, which is essential to the construction of a smart city.
The digital technologies makes the power grid more resistant to the impacts of natural disasters. For instance, thanks to its smartness, the power grid withstood the harsh test of persistent heavy rainfall from May 11 to May 14, ensuring the liability and stability of the city’s power supply.
Furthermore, the digital technologies used in the power grid can help enterprises enjoy green energy and reduce carbon emissions.
