Shenzhen launches 883 key projects to stabilize the economy
Shenzhen is carrying out 883 key projects in modern industries, infrastructure facilities, and people's livelihoods with a total investment of about 3.6 trillion yuan ($540 billion) this year, according to an annual key project list the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission released recently.
Since the beginning of this year, while continuing targeted COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, Shenzhen has faced severe economic development challenges like many other cities in China. From basic research to infrastructure, from advanced manufacturing to people's livelihoods, the 883 major projects are expected to ensure that Shenzhen's economic development is steady against the strong headwind, driving the "innovation city" to "accelerate" its sail over the tides.
In the first quarter of this year, Shenzhen had a total of 3.85 million market entities, with 219.5 market entities per 1,000 people. The total number of market entities and the density of business start-ups in Shenzhen continued to rank first in the country.
The municipal authorities said that Shenzhen would continue to improve its business environment, provide targeted assistance to solve difficulties, strengthen policy support and enhance government services so that the market players can continue to incubate and grow, becoming a powerful driving force for the city to promote high-quality development.
