Lawmakers attend fact-finding tours to drug makers
Shenzhen lawmakers paid fact-finding visits to Nanshan district recently to find out how the biomedicine industry of the city has implemented a document on promoting the high-quality development of the industry they released two years ago.
Led by Luo Wenzhi, director of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress, the city's top legislature, the inspectors visited several pharmaceutical companies. During their inspections, representatives of at least 10 companies proposed suggestions and advice on talent introduction, policy support, industrial space, and drug examination and approval to the lawmakers hoping that relevant work related to the government could be improved.
Luo pointed out that the biomedicine industry, as one of Shenzhen's important strategic emerging industries, has entered a golden development period. Accelerating its development is significant for fostering new economic growth points, upgrading the industrial structure, and realizing high-quality economic development.
He noted that the biomedicine industry is related to many government departments. These departments should stick to the problem-oriented approach and put forward targeted support measures to help enterprises resolve their problems, especially the bottleneck issues hindering innovation.
