Shenzhen urged to do all it can to fight COVID-19 and help Hong Kong
Guangdong Party chief Li Xi and provincial governor Wang Weizhong paid an inspection visit to Shenzhen on Mar. 13 to urge the city to take scientific and practical measures to sever the cluster transmission chains as soon as possible.
Li and Wang urged Shenzhen to increase the accuracy and efficiency of its epidemic prevention and control work to try to tame the novel coronavirus within one incubation period.
They pointed out that Shenzhen should carry out nucleic acid testing scientifically and accurately, quickly and effectively trace the source of epidemic control, quickly identify the source of risk, and completely block community transmissions. In addition, the city should strengthen coordinated regional prevention and control and strictly prevent the spread of the epidemic across regions.
They said that Shenzhen should guard against imported cases and avoid a resurgence of the epidemic at home. In addition, through closed-loop management, efforts should be made to strictly control the importation of goods from other countries.
They noted that Shenzhen should better obey and serve the country's overall situation, spare no effort to support Hong Kong’s fight against the epidemic, and ensure supplies to Hong Kong.
